Is there really a devil? Can we resist him? The scripture states (1 Peter 5:8-9), "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. The Apostles Paul (Ephesians 6:12), Peter (1 Peter 5:8), and James (James 4:7) let us know that we are engaged in a very real spiritual warfare. James gives us a great guideline, "Submit to God. As believers in Jesus Christ, the Word of God gives us guidance about specific areas that we need to pursue. The Apostle Paul declares (1 Timothy 6:11), "But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness."
