There's a place in scripture where the Psalmist (Psalm 42:5-6) spoke to his own soul and demanded that he put his hope in God! If you don't talk to your soul, "other things" will. We can try to find hope in those "other things" that are not God. They can even provide a temporary distraction from our trouble but are actually a false hope. God's hope is the real thing! - Finding Your Hope In God.
Before Jesus left this Earth, He gave us some parting words. He said to go into all the world and preach the gospel to everyone (Mark 16:15). This is our "Mission". So, how do we do that? - Sharing The Gospel.
God made a promise to Abraham that He would make him a great nation and that all the families of the earth would be blessed. So, 25 years later, the promise was fulfilled in Isaac! The scripture uses this story as an example, to remind us that it's through faith & patience that we inherit God's promises. - Keeping The "Switch of Faith" Turned On.
There's a biblical account of Jesus healing a group of 10 men of leprosy (Luke 17:11-19). The amazing thing about it was that only 1 of the 10 came back to say, "Thank You!" You would think that showing a little gratitude for being healed from a life threatening disease would be pretty basic. Sometimes we need to get back to the basics. - Gratitude 101.
Jesus said (Matthew 6:22-24) that if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be filled with light. However, if your eye is unhealthy, your whole body will be filled with darkness. The battle between light & darkness centers around your eye. - The Battle For Your Eye.
Just as Joshua was taking over for Moses, the Lord gave him a command. He declared, "Do not be afraid or discouraged for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go!" God was with Joshua and He is with you too! Fear Not - I Am With You.
The Psalmist declared (Psalm 23:3) about the Lord, "He restores my soul." Do you know that regardless of the condition of your soul that He can restore it? He is a Master builder, a Master redeemer! - He Restores My Soul.
The Apostle Paul lets us know (Philippians 3:12-14) that there is an upward call for each one of us. How do we walk in this call? - The Upward Call.
Each Christmas we reflect on a very special story surrounding the birth of our Lord Jesus (Matthew 2:1-12). It's the account of the "wise men" who diligently followed a star with the expectation that they were going to find the newborn King of the Jews. They persevered until they found Him. When they did, they rejoiced, offered gifts, and worshipped Him! - Wise Men Still Seek Him.
As we're rounding the bend toward Christmas, time seems to speed up with all the things we need to get done. This is when we need to slow down and remember what the fuss is all about (Luke 2:8-12). - The True Meaning of Christmas.
Jesus taught us to "turn the other cheek" and to love our enemies. However, Paul instructs us that sometimes we need to confront for the sake of restoration. When is it OK to confront situations? - When It Is Time To Confront?
