There is prayer, revelation, acting in love, getting spiritually minded, and the very definition of love found in 1 Corinthians 13. However, there is another powerful way that God communicates truth to our hearts. The Bible reveals to us an amazing truth regarding the relationship between fear and God's perfect love. The Apostle John wrote (1 John 4:18), "Perfect love expels all fear...he who fears has not been made perfect in love." First Corinthians 13 is considered to be the great love chapter of the Bible. It's here that we get a comprehensive definition of love. Many times we read this with the understanding of how God wants us to love each other. This is certainly an important application. We see a story in the Old Testament where David and his men came home to find it burned to the ground. Their wives and children were taken and all seemed lost. However, there was an inflection point of faith, when David chose to encourage himself in the Lord. Jesus told us that we would receive the Spirit of truth, Who in turn, would guide us into all truth and show us things to come. Sometimes, as we're endeavoring to follow the Spirit's leading we can hear conflicting ideas. Some will say, "I am waiting on God." Others will say, "No! God is waiting on you."
